Water
The Prophet (SAW) directly said that you can give water on behalf of someone else: On the authority of Sa’d bin Ubadah that he said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! Umm (mother of) Sa‘d has died, so which charity is best?’ He (saw) replied, ‘[Providing] water’. He (RA) said, ‘So [Sa’d] dug a well and said, “This (well) is for Umm Sa’d”’. [Abu Dawud]
It is unfortunate but every 2 minutes a child dies from a waterborne disease. Due to extreme poverty and lack of access to clean water; people struggle and thus drink water which is not fit for human consumption. There are about 2.1 billion (United Nations) people who are unable to access clean water for consumption. It is a serious threat to life for those who are living in poverty in developing countries, which includes poor sanitation and other basic necessities of life. We at Poverty Relief believe that everyone has a right to water thus having right to life, and having clean water is a basic human right.
